The Unknown Character (aka another random thought goes awry)

The character's name referenced at the end of choir devotional is Winter Warlock. Winter Warlock, one of the villans in Santa Claus Is Coming to Town, is intent on stopping Kris Kringle (aka Santa Claus) and his penguin companion, Topper, from going through "his" forest. When Kringle offers him a toy train, which the evil Warlock has dreamed of but never had, his heart melts and they break into song, "Put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking 'cross the floor. Put one foot in front of the other and soon you'll be walking out the door."

Although Winter Warlock was NOT the point of the devotional, his song does remind us of a few things. Like Moses, Gideon, Samuel and David, we should always do what we do. We should be what we are. We should serve where we've been placed to serve. In moments of loneliness, moments of fear, and moments of boredom, let's never stop faithfully putting one foot in front of the other in service to our King.
