A Thought to Ponder...
Why them? It just doesn't seem right. Think about it. Every year, the same verses. Luke 2:1-20. The same twenty verses. Read by every pastor of every chuch. And in those verses who gets the most press? THE SHEPHERDS. Yea, I know, it's about Jesus, the Savior of the world, but look at it. Out of twenty verses, how many include the shepherds? Yep...twelve. Twelve of twenty. Where they were. What they were doing. What they saw. What they heard. How they felt. What they did. Where they went. What they found. Who they told. Is it just me, or have you ever wondered, "What's the deal here?" Well, I think I finally figured it out. The shepherds needed the Lamb.
A Prayer to Offer...
Lord, I thank You for Your entrance into the world. Thank You for the way You did it. Thank You for why You did it. Lord, give me the heart of the shepherds. I confess that I need You. Enable me to share the precious Lamb of Glory with those around me. I love You, Lord. AMEN.
A Verse to Memorize...
"And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them." (Luke 2:20)

Christmas: A Matter of Give and Take
God takes your problems and gives you possibilities.
He takes your past and gives you a future.
He takes your dashed dreams and gives you new vision.
He takes your rags and gives you His riches.
He takes your filthiness and gives you His righteousness.
He takes your dead ends and gives you a detour.
He takes your blown plays and gives you another quarter.
He takes your missed lines and gives you a curtain call.
He takes your sin and gives you sainthood.
He takes your cracked pot and gives you a new vessel.
He takes your sinking ship and gives you a lifeboat.
He takes your marathon and gives you a walk in the park.
He takes your tears and gives you a song.
He takes your fear and gives you courage.
He takes your pain and gives you a shoulder to cry on.
He takes your desperation and gives you deliverance.
He takes your mourning and gives you a dance.
He takes your failures and gives you a chance.
He takes your cursing and gives you a blessing.
He takes your friends and gives you a family.
He takes your limp and gives you a leap.
He takes your house and gives you a home.
He takes your disability and gives you ability.
He takes your insuffiency and gives you all suffiency.
He takes your talent and gives you a ministry.
He takes your debt and gives you a treasure.
He takes your homelessness and gives you a mansion.
He takes you as orphan and gives you adoption.
What will you give?
What will you take?
Give God your heart this Christmas, and He'll take you to a manger where His only Son gives you new life.
